Local & Literary Wedding Favors

I’m so excited to share with you our new lineup of wedding favors for the 2014 season.  I think wedding favors are a chance to show your family and friends your appreciation for the love and support they bring to your life. When we decided to start carrying wedding favors in The Mount’s bookstore, Pins and Pegs, we knew we wanted to tie in the literary connection to Edith Wharton and showcase the talents of the Berkshires’ local artisans.

Let’s start with Edith. We have four of her novels for you to choose from and a collection of short stories if you think your guests would enjoy her wit in a smaller package. The novels we are offering are Summer, The House of Mirth, The Age of Innocence and The Custom of the Country. They are all engrossing romances with heroines that range from brave and bold to cunning and charismatic.

Next we have handcrafted soaps from local artisan Sarah Lais. Sarah grew up in the Berkshires and always enjoyed nature and art. She is a mother of 2, and works in a greenhouse. She spends much of her spare time gardening, making jewelry and creating her lovely soaps.  The soaps are free of animal products, moisturizing, and have long lasting fragrances. She uses herbs from her own herb garden in some of them, and high quality essential oils. They make our bookstore smell AMAZING!

Lastly, we are offering the tasty creations of Chocolate Springs located in Lenox, MA.  They are known all over the Berkshires for their creative and mind-blowingly delicious chocolates. You can go the classic truffle route or opt for something different like french macarons or chocolate dipped oreos (they’ll dip just about anything in chocolate).  If you are looking for a more personalized touch Chocolate Springs can put your names or your wedding logo on the chocolates using custom transfers. No matter what you choose it’s going to taste phenomenal.

This is the first year that we have sold wedding favors in bulk through the bookstore and we thought that Edith Wharton novels and locally crafted soaps and chocolates were a great place to start. That being said, I’d love your feedback on where we can go from here. Do you have suggestions for wedding favors or gifts we could be providing through Pins and Pegs? Do you know a local artisan who’s work would be a perfect fit for us? Or are  you interested in buying favors for your upcoming wedding or event? If so please contact me at gleathrum@edithwharton.org.

Cheers,

Grace
