Robyn Quinnett, Violin

Born on the island of Montserrat in the Caribbean, Robyn Quinnett began playing violin at eight years old. She has won several competitions, including the national Mariam Hayes Young Artist Competition, the Ruth Kern Young Artists Competition, and the Concerto Competition of the Colorado College Music Festival.
Quinnett earned her undergraduate and master’s degrees from The Juilliard School, studying with Naoko Tanaka and the late Stephen Clapp. Quinnett holds a Doctor of Musical Arts from Stony Brook University. She has attended the Aspen Music Festival, the Colorado College Music Festival, the international winter festival of Campos do Jordão in Brazil. .While a Tanglewood Fellow, Quinnett was selected to be concertmaster at the Tanglewood Music Center.
Quinnett is dedicated to community engagement and education. She founded the Montserrat Music Festival, a summer teaching and performing festival, bringing music education and live chamber music to the island of Montserrat.
