The Power of Story with Ty Allan Jackson

September 4, 2021

10:00 AM - 11:00 AM

The Mount welcomes back Ty Allan Jackson for a family program geared toward the creation and telling of stories!

Once upon a time…

Perhaps the most relevant term in all of storytelling. Those four little words make your ears perk up and bring you a little closer to the edge of your seat. But why?

In this talk/workshop we’ll talk about the power of story and give you some insight on how to create your own story! Whether your story is about superheroes, princesses or yourself, we will better define your happily ever after.

This one-hour workshop will be an entertaining blend of learning and fun, geared toward children in late elementary/early middle school.

This program will take place in the Dell (behind the Stable).

Ty Allan Jackson is an award-winning children’s book author, literacy advocate, and captivating motivational speaker. In 2011 he founded Big Head Books, LLC, a literacy organization that aims to introduce children to the joys of reading. Ty travels around the country inspiring children and educating adults about the impacts of illiteracy. A three-time TedX presenter, Ty believes that literacy is the foundation for a successful life and promotes it with humor and enthusiasm. He is the co-founder of the Read or Else movement and Danny Dollar Academy. His books include The Supadupa Kid, Danny Dollar: Millionaire Extraordinaire, When I Close My Eyes, and You Are Amazing / I am Amazing.

As of August 3, we have updated our face-mask policy at The Mount. We strongly encourage vaccinated visitors to wear masks when attending outdoor events. Unvaccinated visitors must wear masks at all times. When indoors, masks are required regardless of vaccination status.

Thank you for your cooperation.
