Poets Creating Conversations

with WordXWord

August 16, 2023

6:00 PM - 7:30 PM

Not for the faint of heart, WordXWord's Poets Creating Conversation is a series of events that invites and challenges poets to circle loosely around a theme or issue - often a thorny issue - in the public discourse. Free Range Bullets and Banned Books invites poets to contemplate two subjects that are not only headlines but have much impact on the lives and futures of children and young adults.

Register to take the challenge & share a poem.

Note for poets: in this call, there are two possible centers to circle. Feel free to use either one or both. The fine print--no personal attacks. Poetry--three minutes or less. Collaborations (multi-voice pieces) are welcome (encouraged)!

Poets Creating Conversation is an ongoing series of events that invites and challenges poets to circle loosely around a theme or issue in the current social discourse to create a broad, multi-dimensional “conversation” between poems, poets, and audiences. By sharing personal stories, observations, challenges, moments of inspiration, and hope, we weave a tapestry of creative voices that makes us stronger and helps us individually and collectively navigate the way forward.
