America’s Great Art Contribution: Stained Glass of La Farge and Tiffany

with Richard Guy Wilson

August 20, 2023

2:00 PM - 6:00 PM

In the late 19th century, a new form of stained glass emerged using color and radiance. Created by John La Farge and then picked up by Louis Comfort Tiffany, it became known as “American Glass in France and Europe." This talk and tour with architectural historian, Richard Guy Wilson, will investigate this extraordinary creation.

The program starts in the Stable auditorium with a slide presentation followed by guided tours of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Stockbridge and Trinity Episcopal Church in Lenox to view the glassworks.

The Mount is a Massachusetts Cultural Council UP designated organization welcoming participants of all disabilities. Please contact The Mount at 413-551-5100 or by email, info@edithwharton.org, to discuss accommodations needed to participate fully in this event.
