  • GUIDED HOUSE TOURS (YEAR ROUND, INCLUDED WITH ADMISSION)

    An introduction to Wharton’s life, works, and love of architecture and interior design through a 50-minute tour of her 42-room country home.
  • GUIDED GARDEN TOURS (MAY – OCTOBER)

    The Mount’s restored formal gardens, among the most exquisite in New England, highlight Wharton’s passion for gardening.
  • BACKSTAIRS TOURS (JUNE – OCTOBER)

    Meet the servants who worked at The Mount in this behind-the-scenes tour. Includes admission, mimosas on the Terrace and a Q&A with our interpreters.
  • GHOST TOURS (JULY – OCTOBER)

    Syfy’s Ghost Hunters found The Mount to be full of eerie experiences. What will you discover on your tour of the most haunted parts of the estate? Not recommended for children under 12.
  • PRIVATE LIBRARY TOURS ($150 FOR TWO, BY RESERVATION ONLY)

    Enjoy a private tour of Edith Wharton’s personal 2,700-volume library. Replete with personal notes, inscriptions, and markings in the acclaimed author’s own hand, these books provide a rare and wonderful glimpse into what Wharton was thinking, and feeling, over 100 years ago. Exhibits 2017

  • LIFE IN THE DALE: AUGUSTUS MARTIN’S LENOX

    A photography exhibit that documents working-class life in Lenox Dale at the beginning of the 20th Century.
  • EDITH WHARTON AND THE FIRST WORLD WAR

    This timely exhibit examines this admirable and lesser-known chapter of Wharton’s life through historic photographs, artifacts and her own incomparable words.
  • THE BACKSTAIRS PROJECT

    We have re-imagined the rooms that tell the stories of the men and women who worked at The Mount, including the Sewing Room and the Kitchen.
