Ah, the lure of a brand new year!
2012–an absolutely banner year for The Mount–set our annual standard at an entirely new level, and we’re very happily embracing the challenge. Though on a drive-by the property might appear quiet, we Mounties have been hard at work planning the 2013 season. (Others of us, including Ross Jolly and his staff, have been busy maintaining the vast property throughout the cold season–no small feat, as you can imagine!)
We’re kicking off the new season with a bang on Saturday, January 26, when we swing open the house doors for the afternoon to celebrate Edith Wharton’s 151st birthday. On Wednesday evening, February 6, we are joining forces with the New York School of Interior Design to present a New York-based panel discussion (moderated by Richard Guy Wilson) about the enduring principles of good, livable design. On Saturday, February 23, we’re hosting a marathon reading of Ethan Frome, the beloved Berkshire-set novella Edith Wharton penned at The Mount.
Stay tuned as we roll out the rest of our annual programming, including a trip to Italy in June and the third Berkshire WordFest in September. In the meantime, we continue to welcome your involvement and input. Don’t hesitate to comment on our blog or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
