The Mount Wins Top Ten Slot in USA TODAY’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Travel Awards

(Lenox, MA)— The Mount, Edith Wharton’s Home has earned a top ten slot in USA TODAY’s 2019 10Best Readers’ Choice travel awards for holiday historic home tours. This designation is a tremendous accomplishment considering this is only the third year The Mount has had winter hours and holiday decorations.

Twenty historic homes from around the nation were selected by the USA TODAY expert panel, which includes a combination of editors from USA TODAY, editors from 10Best.com, relevant expert contributors, and sources for both these media and other Gannett properties. The contest was open to the public for four weeks. The Mount, Edith Wharton’s Home, came in ninth place, thanks to a huge show of support from voters. Elvis Presley’s Graceland took top place.

“We would like to thank the Lenox Garden Club, who donate the decorations and their time each holiday season,” says Anne Schuyler, director of visitor services for The Mount. “This designation is the result of their vision and hard work.”

The Mount would also like to thank everyone who voted for us.

Holiday house tours are offered weekends through January 5. Visit EdithWharton org or call 413-551-5111 for additional information and tour times.
