Mr. Fullerton at The Mount

presented by the Great Barrington Public Theatre

July 14, 2021

4:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Join the cast of the daring new play Mr. Fullerton for a steamy, eyebrow-raising return to Edith Wharton's Gilded Age. Written by Anne Undeland, a favorite local playwright-actor, and directed by Judy Braha, Mr. Fullerton brings together Edith Wharton, Henry James, Edith’s lover Morton Fullerton, and Edith’s saucy Irish maid Posy for parlor games and society foreplay from Paris to Lenox, in a rich imagining of Wharton’s actual romance with a younger stateroom dandy.
This event presents selections from the show read live by cast members, as well as insight from playwright Anne Undeland and director Judy Braha on the dramatic process of bringing Edith Wharton to life, in advance of the play's premiere at Great Barrington Public Theater, July 21-August 1 at the Daniel Arts Center at Simon’s Rock.

Anne Undeland

Anne Undeland (Playwright) is an active member of Berkshire Voices, Berkshire Playwrights Lab’s writing group, and Howl Playwrights out of Rhinebeck, NY (where two of her 10-minute plays, The Sisterhood and Bob Dole for President received public readings). Her short plays, The Kiss and Another Party of the Wood, were selected for BPL’s Radius Festival in 2018 and 2019. The Kiss won Best Play at Writer’s Voice Ten Minute Play Festival at the West Side Y in New York in the spring of 2018. She is currently at work on Touch, an evening of sketches that feature, in a quietly revolutionary way, a woman over 45 who drives the action and gets the bulk of the funny lines. Lady Randy, her first full length play, was just produced by WAM Theater at Shakespeare & Co in Lenox, MA in April/May of 2019. www.
