Outdoor Yoga at The Mount

with Lenox Yoga

This summer, The Mount and Lenox Yoga are offering a beautiful blending of arts and movement with outdoor yoga classes, all summer long.

Join us every Tuesday from May 4 to August 31 for an outdoor, all-level yoga class. Instructors from Lenox Yoga will guide you through a gentle morning practice as you immerse yourself in the beauty of The Mount's grounds and gardens.

Signs will be posted to guide you from the parking lot.

Pre-registration is required. All participants should bring water, a mat, sunscreen if needed. Please be sure you have read our health and safety guidelines. Face coverings are required regardless of vaccination status. All visitors and staff members must cover their nose and mouth at all times while on property.

The Mount is a Massachusetts Cultural Council UP designated organization welcoming participants of all disabilities. Please contact The Mount at 413-551-5100 or by email, info@edithwharton.org, to discuss accommodations needed to participate fully in this event.

Instructors

Sue Parsley
Lenox Yoga Website

Sue Parsley is the owner of Lenox Yoga. An experienced educator, she is a certified master yoga instructor specializing in Corporate Wellness. In addition to teaching and lecturing at world-class facilities like Canyon Ranch Lenox, Club Westmoor in Nantucket, and Equinox in Vermont, Sue serves as the Wellness Director at The Center for Motivation and Change in the Berkshires. In 2015 and 2016, Sue was named Ambassador to The Canyon Ranch Institute. She brings light, fun, and creative energy to every class she teaches.

Nora Fenner

Nora Fenner is a 500hr Kripalu Yoga teacher, Reiki attuned, and shamanic energy healer. She has attended workshops with Manju Jois, David Swenson, Angela Farmer, Bryan Kest, Yoganand Michael Carroll, Ray Crist, and others. Nora works at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health for over ten years. She brings a light cheer, peace, and a well-balanced physical and mental practice to her classes, bringing inner peace and strength, which she offers to her classes.

Sue Shook

As a landscape and floral artist, Sue Shook weaves her love of the earth into her practice of yoga. Utilizing every sense, she teaches in a nurturing way to help you find the same warm connection to mother earth in every pose. Sue has been a yoga practitioner for more than 18 years. A graduate of the Yoga Institute of the Berkshires and a Yoga Alliance member, Sue recommitted herself three years ago to teaching and practicing full time and now offers classes at Lenox Yoga. Those who practice with Sue find that she guides with clarity and encourages long, deep poses to achieve a sense of tranquility.

Laura Wentzel

Laura Wentzel received her 200-hour yoga certification from Alchemy of Yoga and is pursuing her 500-hour certification through Asheville Yoga Center. With additional training and background in public health, nutrition, and disaster response, she provides yoga for people experiencing the physical and mental manifestations of trauma and PTSD. Laura is also a 6-time marathon runner based in the Berkshire mountains in western MA, where she enjoys hiking, running, snowboarding, and yoga outdoors.

Mary Keator

Mary Keator, Ph.D. (RYTA-500 and E-RYTA 500) is a Yoga Alliance continuing education provider (YACEP), which recognizes her as an expert in one or more Yoga Alliance educational categories.

 Mary has been teaching yoga for over 25 years. She sees yoga as a practice of self-discipline to heal the body, train the mind, embody compassion, and build healthy communities. She sees the human condition as a complex, diverse and beautiful mystery filled with endless possibilities. One of her many gifts is her ability to guide you towards deeper alignment—body, mind, and spirit—through yoga, mindfulness/meditation, and spiritual direction.
