Concert in the Drawing Room

The Mount presents an innovative two-part concert fusing Classical favorites with American jazz standards. Renowned pianist Anastasia Dedik will interpret favorites by Brahms, Mahler, and Chopin, among others, accompanied by tenor David Guzman and soprano Alexandra Lushtak in the comfort of The Mount's Drawing Room. Saxophonist George Michael and guitarist/vocalist Ilya Lushtak will open this special evening performance with standards on the Terrace.

Anastasia Dedik

Anastasia Dedik has performed as a soloist and chamber musician at the Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall, The Great Philharmonic Hall in St. Petersburg, Russia, and many others. She has appeared as a soloist with Fort Worth Symphony, Saint Petersburg Philharmonic, NYCA Symphony Orchestra, San Jose Symphony, and Oberlin Orchestra. Featured on RAI TV in Italy, NDR TV in Germany, and WABC in NYC, Dedik appeared in an episode of NBC’s “Law and Order SVU,” performing Beethoven’s “Appassionata” in an episode entitled “True believers.” Dedik graduated from The Saint Petersburg Conservatory in 2004, moving to the US to continue her education at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and The Juilliard School on full talent scholarships. Lauded with numerous national and international awards, Dedik recorded a début Solo CD at a live recital in Recco, Italy, released by GPM Records in 2008. In 2015, she recorded Tchaikovsky-Pletnev’s “Nutcracker” Suite and “Pictures at an Exhibition” by Mussorgsky, followed by the CD “PIANO.”

David Guzman

Hailed by the Tampa Bay Times as the “one to watch,” rising star, Colombian tenor David Guzman, is known for his exquisite tone and impeccable musicianship. Guzman made his Carnegie Hall debut as a soloist in Joseph Julian Gonzalez’s Misa Azteca.

Alexandra Lushtak

New York-based soprano Alexandra Lushtak is a vocal performance graduate of the world-renowned Saint-Petersburg Conservatory. Lushtak has toured throughout Europe and USA, performing in major classical music venues, including St. Petersburg Shostakovich Philharmonic Hall, State Academic Capella, and the Russian State Museum. Lushtak’s US collaborations include the Hudson Valley Singers and New York Metamorphosis Orchestra. She has authored, produced, and performed a program of masterpieces of baroque music with the New York Metamorphosis Orchestra under the direction of Eugene Sirotkine.

Ilya Lushtak

Ilya Lushtak is a Russian-born, seasoned New York Jazz musician. Lushtak has played with such greats as Hank Jones, Barry Harris, Cedar Walton, Jimmy Cobb, Frank Wess, and numerous others.

George Michael

George Michael is employed as a music teacher with the Department of Education here in New York City. He has performed at many venues, including Carnegie Hall Music Educators Workshop, Stephen Oquendo Latin Jazz Orchestra, NYC Jazz Workshop, and the Michael Shirtz Quartet. Michael is a founding member of the Washington Heights Jazz Festival, which features numerous musicians from upper Manhattan and the surrounding New York City area.
