  • GUIDED GARDEN TOURS (INCLUDED WITH ADMISSION)

    The Mount’s restored formal gardens, among the most exquisite in New England, highlight Wharton’s passion for gardening.
  • BACKSTAIRS TOURS ($23 GENERAL, $7 MOUNT MEMBERS, KIDS FREE)

    Learn about the daily routines of the men and women who ran The Mount through this behind-the-scenes tour. Includes admission, mimosas on the Terrace and a Q&A with an interpreter.

  • LITERARY ROUNDTABLE (THURSDAYS AT 1:30, JULY – OCTOBER)

    Join this lively discussion of Wharton’s literary legacy with one of The Mount's interpreters. Each week will focus on different book or theme, but you do not need to read the work ahead of time to enjoy.
  • GHOST TOURS ($24 GENERAL, $20 12–18 YEARS)

    Syfy’s Ghost Hunters found The Mount to be full of eerie experiences. What will you discover on your tour of the most haunted parts of the estate? Not recommended for children under 12.

  • PRIVATE LIBRARY TOURS ($150 FOR TWO, BY RESERVATION ONLY)

    Enjoy a private tour of Edith Wharton’s personal 2,700-volume library. Replete with personal notes, inscriptions, and markings in the acclaimed author’s own hand, these books provide a rare and wonderful glimpse into what Wharton was thinking, and feeling, over 100 years ago.
