House Tours

Let one of our expert guides introduce you to Wharton’s life, works, and love of architecture and interior design through a 45-minute tour of her 42-room country home.  Group tour rates are available with advance reservations.

May Guided House Tour Times:

Weekdays: 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m., and 3 p.m.

Weekends: 11 a.m., 12 p.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m., and 4 p.m.

Early closing days: 11 a.m. and 12 p.m.

Garden Tours

Tours of The Mount’s three acres of restored formal gardens, among the largest and most exquisite in New England, highlight Wharton’s passion for gardening.

May Guided Garden Tour Times:

Daily: 2 p.m.

Early closing days: 12 p.m.

Visitors are also invited to take self-guided tours through the house and gardens. Knowledgeable interpreters are always available to answer questions.

Literary Roundtable Tours

Join a lively discussion and tour through Wharton’s life and time at The Mount through the lens of her literature.

Ghost Tours
