Job Opportunities
The Grant Writer is responsible for helping to meet or exceed foundation, government, corporate and business partner revenue goals. Duties include responsibility for researching, developing, preparing, tracking and monitoring The Mount’s grant programs and budget. The functions of this position include; coordinating the grants process; researching funding sources; drafting, writing, assembling and submitting proposals, solicitation letters and reports; tracking submission deadlines, proposal status, and follow-up with potential funders; compiling progress and financial reports to funders; recording receipt of grants; processing timely acceptance and acknowledgment of grants; ensuring regular communication with prospective and existing funders; and maintaining database and filing system. In addition this position will produce accurate communications and reports of The Mount and its programs. The Grant Writer works closely with development, program and finance staff to prepare and update standard program descriptions, communications and reports. Applicants must have minimum two years experience in development/fund raising in a non-profit organization in addition to grant writing experience in not-for-profit organization with a proven track record of funded proposals. Ability to plan, prioritize and coordinate multiple projects under tight deadlines. Excellent writing, editing, and written/oral communication skills are a must.

Tour Guides
Tour Guides are responsible for interpreting the historic house and formal gardens. Guides lead 45 minute individual and group tours, greet visitors, assist self-guiding visitors and provide for the safety and security of the house, the grounds, and visitors. The Mount’s tour guides are well known for their exceptional presentations. Prior experience as a guide, public speaker or other work in customer service is preferred. Excellent opportunity for college students, teachers or anyone with a love of literature, history, architecture, gardening or landscape design.
Qualified applicants for all positions should have at least one year of college education and enjoy working with a diverse public. All seasonal positions at The Mount require weekend and holiday availability. Full or part-time positions available. The full season for runs from May 1 – Nov. 1 with some positions ending earlier. Pay is based on experience.
