Journalist and cultural critic Kate Bolick is back with another season of Touchstones: Conversations at The Mount.  Join Kate on August 11th for an intimate conversation with New York Times film critic A.O. Scott about his new book, Better Living Through Criticism.

A.O. Scott is a chief film critic at The New York Times and Distinguished Professor of Film Criticism at Wesleyan University. Over the past two decades, he has contributed essays and reviews to the New York Times Magazine, The New York Review of Books, The Nation, GQ and many other publications. His book, Better Living Through Criticism: How to Think about Art, Pleasure, Beauty, and Truth was published in February.

Kate Bolick is the author of the New York Times bestseller Spinster: Making a Life of One’s Own, a contributing editor for The Atlantic, and a freelance writer for various publications, including The New York Times, Vogue, and The Wall Street Journal. Previously, she was executive editor of Domino and a columnist for The Boston Globe. She has appeared on NBC’s Today show, CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, and numerous NPR programs across the country. A recipient of a MacDowell fellowship, she holds a master’s in cultural criticism from New York University, where she currently teaches writing.
