School programs may be scheduled for groups of 5 to 45 students.
Reservations and Confirmation
Groups should contact The Mount as early as possible to reserve a preferred date and time. An email confirmation will be sent for your records.
Payment for your group is required at the time of your visit. Checks made out to “The Mount” or credit card payment are accepted at the Ticketbooth upon arrival.
Please provide 48-hour notice if you must cancel or postpone your visit. In the event that The Mount or your school is closed due to inclement weather, every effort will be made to re-schedule your program.
Please allow at least 15 minutes at the beginning of your visit to enjoy the walk to the Main House and use restrooms. If you are ahead of or behind schedule by more than 15 minutes, please notify us at 413-551-5100.
We can accommodate school busses, vans, and individual cars in our main parking lot off of Plunkett Street. Please be advised that the house and gardens are a 15-minute walk from the parking lot. If your group has mobility concerns, limited handicap parking is available. Be sure to mention your needs at the time of booking.
Length of Stay
We encourage groups to explore the house, formal gardens, and extensive woodlands during their visit and recommend planning for at least a two-hour visit.
One adult chaperone for every 12 students is required and admitted free. Chaperones are responsible for the group at all times.
Large backpacks, gum, food, and beverages are not permitted while in the Main House. We also request that all electronic devices be turned off during your visit. Picnicking is welcomed on the grounds or at the Terrace Café (open May-October).
The Mount Book Store and the Terrace Café are available for browsing as your schedule allows.
