Edith Wharton wrote some of her most popular and acclaimed literary works during her prolific decade of residence at The Mount, the home she built for herself in 1901. Our scholastic programs explore Wharton’s life and work, the significance of her Berkshire writer’s retreat, and the turbulent history of Gilded Age America.
