It’s a three-day spoken word festival! Each evening is a doubleheader starting with Walkin’ with WordXWord\, in which poets present short pieces in response to works in the 2021 Sculptur eNow exhibition\, followed by poetry and storytelling events.
\nFor Accomplice[d]\, July 20 at 7 PM\, WordXWord has challenged poets to step o utside of their typically solitary discipline to create and perform collab orative pieces.
\nWordXWomen\, July 21 at 7 PM\, will feature the voices of 9 women\, spanning seven generatio ns and a broad spectrum of approach and style.
\nFor WXW’s Story Sla m on July 22 at 7 PM\, storytellers will offer 5-minute true\, first-perso n stories reflecting on the theme “Unsaid.” A story slam is a storytelling competition with volunteer judges from the audience.
\nThe Sculptur e Walks portion of the program is from 6:00 to 6:45 PM nightly\, and we re commend registering\, as spaces are limited.
\nNew to WordXWord this year is the Wild Words Cafe orchestrated by Melissa Cair ns. From 5-5:45P each evening all are invited to join in a very social hour. Bring your own snacks\, catch up with old friends\, ma ke new ones\, try your hand at a writing challenge\, or just chill out! Pl us a poetry-book swap (leave one and/or take one).
\nFunded by the Amy Clampitt Fund\, a fund of Berkshire Taconic Community Foundatio n.
