Restoration

Edith Wharton Restoration was founded in 1980:

• to preserve and restore The Mount as a tribute to its remarkable creator
• to establish The Mount as a cultural and literary centerEWR's guiding principles are: preservation, education, and quality in all endeavors.

Edith Wharton Restoration's goals include:

• creating the Edith Wharton Center for the Written Word, to celebrate the literary arts
• restoring the Georgian Revival stable and gatehouse
• recreating the elaborate kitchen garden designed by Beatrix Farrand

• expanding both educational and cultural programming
